Positives and Improvements
I have taken a couple of online courses in my current career at San Jose State University. This course had a lot of positives that could be said, but also had some areas that could be improved in my opinion. One thing that I liked about this course was the flexibility to construct blogs at your own time. I have been an extremely busy student over this semester and often struggled to finish certain assignments during the semester. Taking a full load in units and playing a sport for the university required me to have good time management. Because we were able to post blogs 12 hours apart instead of something like 24 hours, I was able to constantly have control over my assignments that were due. One area of the course that I thought could use some improvement was the quiz section. At times I felt extremely rushed to complete the quiz. I could read the chapters before taking the quiz and make notes in my book and still run out of time. Maybe if there was a larger allotted amount of time I would have enjoyed some of the quizzes more.

HEllo,
ReplyDeleteI also thought that this online course was good, there were many positive things about it that I mentioned in my post. I liked that the blog schedule was flexible I have had teachers that require you to post to blogs 24 hours apart this makes it a lot more difficult to keep up with blogging.
I personally did not have any problems with the quizzes I thought there was enough time and it was nice that we could skip a question we were having trouble with and go back to it later.
I currently have a teacher who doesn't allow you to go back to a question you are stuck on.

I agree with you that spreading out the posts really created an environment where you could go into it with a clear mind. This didn't make sense to me that we had to post twelve hours apart at first, but it made sense to me after doing it a few times. I had a problem with the quizzes as well.
ReplyDeletei felt like there wasn't enough time just like you and always read over the chapters the best i could, but still felt a little confused when taking the quiz. This makes me worry about the final because I don't know how much studying Im gonna have to do to get a good grade on that Beast!
